     The author Gordon Korman was born on October 23, 1663.  He grew up in Montreal, Quebec where he wrote his very first book at age 12 in 7th grade.  The book was called This Can't be Happening at Macdonald Hall.  Gordon had around 20 books published with Scholastic in the beginning of his career.  He latter moved to New York to study film and film writing.  He eventually married and now has two children.  He also has a house in Florida and now has around 45 published books, with others to come. 

     Gordon's favorite authors consist of Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Cormier, Paul Zindel, and Joseph Heller.  His favorite books when he was a kid were the "Great Brain" series. When he was asked how long it usually takes to type one book he replied around 6 months.  In school he was a B+ student.  Some of Gordon's books were even translated into French, Swedish, Norwegian and other  languages.  50% of Gordon's writing is based on something that really happened and he personally does not have a favorite book that he has written.  Some of the things that he enjoys are movies, plays, TV, bicycling, hiking, and walking.
